The Empire Strikes Back, Betamax, CBS/Fox Video USA, 1984

First release of Empire on Betamax, in print from 1984 to 1987, when it was replaced by a 10th anniversary edition. The Beta designation on the cardboard box is printed, not a sticker.
After the film there is a short announcement: "Stay tuned for exciting scenes from the movie that started it all... Star Wars!" Then comes the Star Wars "Academy Award" trailer, followed by the FBI warning and then the recording ends. I have two copies of this release (bought in 2007) and they are identical, both in the content and the label. They both use Scotch blanks as well. |
