The Making of Star Wars / SP FX: The Empire Strikes Back, Laserdisc, CLV, MVC Video USA, 1981

The two "making of..." specials were released on Laserdisc from Magnetic Video in 1981. Each special comes on its own side of the disc. Magnetic Video was owned by 20th Century Fox, and they would soon rebrand to 20th Century Fox video and re-release this Laserdisc a year later under that banner (See it here.)

Note that the front boasts "Electronically rechanneled for Stereo". Part of the selling points of early Laserdisc technology was its stereo capability. This necessitated some creative marketing when releasing material that was inherently monophonic.

I have two copies of this Laserdisc, both bought in 2011. They each have their price stickers on them that add to the vintage nostalgia, and speaks to the provenance of the items.
