Return of the Jedi, Laserdisc, CBS/FOX Video Japan, 1986

Return of the Jedi debuted on Laserdisc in Japan in 1986, and the first two films were re-released at the same time.

The Laserdisc features a cropped "fullscreen" picture and an English PCM stereo soundtrack, accompanied by Japanese subtitles. The film comes on three sides, encoded in the CLV format. On this copy, the advertising stickers from the original shrinkwrap have been preserved (not shown).

Japanese Laserdiscs command a higher price if they come with their original OBI, a price/information strip that is common on Japanese media but often discarded by the original buyer. Strangely, this OBI doesn't advertise the other two films, like the OBIs on Star Wars and Empire.
