The then-new Star Wars Special Editions were issued worldwide on home video in 1997. In the UK the films were issued in both Widescreen and Pan&Scan editions, and you could get them either separately or as boxed sets.
The "regular" editions presented the films in cropped "fullscreen", with original English Hi-Fi audio.
At the beginning of each tape you'll find the short "Making of..." featurettes that accompanied the Special Editions on just about every release.
The cassettes sometimes have an additional ratings sticker on the front, sometimes not. I have two copies of Jedi, and the sealed copy has such a ratings sticker.
These releases use unique boxes matching the gold trim of the artwork inlays, including an embossed 20th. Century Fox logo on the inside lid. I discovered a variation on my second copy of Jedi, where the Fox logo was in the landscape direction. The promotional sticker on the front of the case has warped the plastic on all my copies. In hindsight I should have removed that sticker.
