Droids - Die Piraten von Tarnoonga/ aka. The Pirates and the Prince, VHS, CBS/Fox Video, Germany 1988

This is the German program that corresponds to the UK Vol. 2, "The Pirates and the Prince", containing these four episodes: The Lost Prince The New King The Pirates of Tarnoonga The Revenge of Kybo Ren There is a major screw-up with the German Droids tapes. Some tapes are mislabelled, most likely due to some on-screen titles being mixed up, making it a headache to keep the releases straight. One of my copies of this is mislabelled "Der Killersatellit" on the cassette, but contains the "Die Piraten von Tarnoonga" episodes. (I have two copies, and the other one is labelled correctly. The correct cassette uses a sticker, the mixed-up one has the wrong title printed on the actual tape housing.) I don't know if my tapes have been tampered with, or if this is a production error. The German Droids tapes come in big Amaray covers, bearing the CBS/Fox Video imprint on the top. The tapes were manufactured in the UK, but have German language dubbing and German opening and closing credits. The German vocals on the opening song ("In trouble again") are stronger than the English performance. The episodes have been edited together without title cards. The Droids and Ewoks series have very varied artwork across the regions. There was apparently no finalized marketing art to work from, so each territory has unique artwork.
