Droids - Das Geheimnis von Roon/ aka. Unchartered Space, VHS, CBS/Fox Video, Germany 1988

The contents of this German volume corresponds to the UK Vol. 3, "Unchartered Space", containing these four episodes: The Tail of the Roon Comet The Roon Games Across the Roon Sea The Frozen Citadel CBS/Fox and the video editor put the wrong title card on the "Das Geheimnis von Roon" story arc, calling it "Der Killer-satellit". It caught me off guard seeing the title card on the programme being "Der Killer-satellit", but the actual episodes ARE the correct "Roon" episodes. The confusion causes the tapes to sometimes get mixed up. Since the on-screen title is "Der Killer-satellit" one assumes the cassette is mis-labelled, and belongs to the cover for "Der Killer-satellit". Hence you might find this particular tape in "Der Killer-satellit"-boxes, like I did in my copy here. The security sticker on the front has been torn off on my copy. Someone may have been attempting to switch out the spools in order to "correct" what they thought was the wrong content of the tape. The tape appears not to have been tampered with in the end. The German Droids tapes come in big Amaray covers, bearing the CBS/Fox Video imprint on the top. The tapes were manufactured in the UK, but have German language dubbing and German opening and closing credits. The German vocals on the opening song ("In trouble again") are stronger than the English performance. The episodes have been edited together without title cards. The Droids and Ewoks series have very varied artwork across the regions. There was apparently no finalized marketing art to work from, so each territory has unique artwork.
