The Ewok Adventure, VHS, Rental tape, CBS/Fox Video UK, 1985

This film goes by many names. "The Ewok Adventure" is what the title card on the film itself says. Outside the US it is mostly known as "Caravan of Courage - An Ewok Adventure". The UK box (and the copyright notice before the film) calls it "AN Ewok Adventure".
The UK rental tape starts with trailers for Muppets Take Manhattan and Finders Keepers. The content is the same on both the VHS and Betamax versions of this tape. I remember when this film was announced back in 1985, and what a big deal it was. It was heavily advertised in most of the film and video magazines of the time, and I couldn't wait to see it. Of course, you couldn't own it at the time, just rent it, but I made sure to make a copy of my rental before returning it. Many years later this tape was pretty easy to come by when I bought it on eBay in 2002 (and on Betamax in 2007), and I could finally have an original tape. I have several copies, but not all come with the original white CBS/Fox box, as pictured above. Unlike most rental tapes at the time, the CBS/Fox cases are small. Please note, the "U" ratings logo with the white border on the front is just a redundant sticker placed over the regular printed "U". It is not a variation. |
